The best walking routes in Lloret de Mar

Lloret de Mar is about much more than beaches and sunshine. Its coastline, Mediterranean forests and cultural heritage are connected by a network of paths that let you discover the area at a slower pace. If you enjoy walking, there are several walking routes in Lloret de Mar combining scenery, nature and history.

From cliffside paths to inland trails, these three walks reveal some of the most beautiful sides of Lloret and its surroundings.

3 walking routes in Lloret de Mar worth discovering

1. Lloret de Mar to Tossa de Mar coastal path

The coastal path linking Lloret de Mar and Tossa is one of the most impressive walks in the area. The official route is just over 13 kilometres long and takes around three hours, although the frequent climbs and descents mean a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.

The route starts at Museu del Mar and follows the coast past places such as Sa Caleta, Cala dels Frares, Cala Trons, Cala Canyelles and Cala Morisca. Along the way, cliffs, woodland and small coves alternate with open views across the Mediterranean.

The walk ends in Tossa de Mar, arriving near Platja des Codolar, with the option of continuing into the Vila Vella and its medieval walls.

If you do not want to complete the entire route, you can simply walk one of the first sections before returning to Lloret.

2. Lloret de Mar to Blanes coastal path

Heading south, another of the best walking routes in Lloret de Mar links Museu del Mar with central Blanes and Sa Palomera. The route is around 10 kilometres long and combines coastal paths, pine and holm oak woodland, beaches and several well-known landmarks.

Along the way you will pass the Dona Marinera monument, Cala Banys, Sant Joan Castle in Fenals, Santa Clotilde Gardens, Santa Cristina Hermitage and the area around Pinya de Rosa before reaching Blanes.

One of the advantages of this walk is how easy it is to shorten. From Lloret, you can walk only as far as Fenals, Santa Clotilde or Santa Cristina, or continue all the way to Blanes.

Before setting off, check the latest route information, as individual sections can occasionally be diverted or temporarily closed.

3. Lloret Hermitages Walk

For a change from the coast, the Hermitages Walk is a circular route of around 19 kilometres. This longer, moderately difficult itinerary crosses natural areas while introducing walkers to part of Lloret's religious heritage.

The route connects different historic sites and offers a very different view of the municipality, away from the beaches. Places associated with this heritage include the Hermitage of Les Alegries, Lloret's former parish church, as well as other religious and historic sites surrounded by nature.

Because of the distance, allow several hours and take suitable footwear, water and some food.

Which route should you choose?

If you want sea views and a more demanding excursion, the coastal path towards Tossa de Mar is one of the most complete options. For a coastal walk that can easily be shortened, the route towards Blanes gives you plenty of flexibility. If you prefer woodland, inland trails and heritage, the Hermitages Walk offers a completely different experience.

You do not need to fit them all into one trip. Spending several days in Lloret gives you the chance to alternate hiking with beaches, cultural visits and time to relax.
